It is not safe to get laser removal, unless it is a recognized clinic:

Dermacos strongly recommends that you only go to a well-reputed and qualified doctor to get the procedure.

We understand that there are many cheaper and unrecognized places that offer to remove tattoos, but it comes with its own risks which range from scar formation, blood loss, infection, nerve damage or even fracture, depending on the location of the tattoo. It is important that a qualified dermatologist is consulted before undergoing the procedure because of the risks involved. It is also important to check the qualifications of the dermatologist who ensure the eligibility of the doctor to give proper advice.

A bad tattoo cannot be removed so easily through laser treatment.

Before getting a tattoo people seldom think, because they assume it is a reversible procedure and can easily be removed. It is not an easy procedure and may take anywhere between 6 months to 2 years to remove the tattoo completely and it may take several sittings like once or twice a month. Since it is an invasive procedure, the cost of removing a tattoo will also be high. The procedure involves blowing the tiny molecules containing the pigment into small pieces and then allowing them to dissolve in the blood stream.

The major risk would be infection but most commonly the patient will experience pain, swelling, bleeding.

Is tattoo removal painful?

It depends on the size and area, but mostly tattoo removal is not so painful, this is because of the local anesthesia effects. Sometimes the tattoo removal might be an extended procedure spanning several days or weeks, in such cases it requires an injection containing lidocaine to make the area insensitive. Only a qualified medical doctor can administer this injection and it is not safe if any non-medical professional tries it. Any slight pain you feel during the procedure is just temporary and will last only as long as the procedure and seldom it can linger on for longer periods of time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Laser tattoo removal may not be for everyone, especially if you are dark skinned. The laser penetrates into the dark pigment which is in contrast to the skin tone. So, the darker the skin, the more difficult it will be tio remove the tattoo. The laser reacts to the melanin content on your skin and will penetrate any dark coloured skin. This may possibly have complications and will not be suitable for the laser tattoo removal. Certain skins are more prone to burns and hyperpigmentation and will not be suitable for the tattoo removal.

Not all Tattoos are equally easy to remove. Black tattoos are more easy to remove than the brighter coloured tattoos like green or blue. Basically the more the contrast between your skin tone and the tattoo, the more easier the laser can be absorbed by the pigment. Colours like yellow and white are not possible to be removed. If your skin is dark,  it will not work very well on you. The lasers are absorbed by different wavelengths of the pigment, so the more the contrast the easier for the laer to detect the tattoo. If you have it done professionally using complicated colours, it becomes almost impossible to get 100% results. AAlso the depth of the penetration of the tattoo also matters. If you have the pigment too deep into your skin, it gets difficult to get to the pigment without burning your skin.

After tattoo removal there is easy and quick recovery. The natural response system of healing of the body will take over and heal the minor reddishness or soreness on the skin. Of Course you cannot expect that your skin will be absolutely smooth like before having the tattoo. There will be mild scarring or discoloration. This fact must be remembered even before getting a tattoo made in the first place. [/vc_column_text]
